RELIGIOUS PREFERENCE:SOURCE OF FRACAS BETWEEN CHRISTIANS AND GOVERNMENT IN TANZANIA

Religious preference on the meat processing, has, once again, caused the fracas between the Christian community on one hand and the Tanzania government on the other hand.
This happened on January 12, 2013 at Nyehunge village, Sengerema District in Mwanza region, 1154 km from Dar es Salaam, where, the Mwanza Regional Commissioner,  Evarist Ndikilo, accompaned by Police officers, banned Christians to slaughter animals for their food, and ordered that the whole process must be done by Muslims only. He further warned to take severe action to any Christian who would go against the order. His biased and unconstitutional order, made Christians angry and furious as a result, they left the meeting place and dispersed, leaving the RC with just few people.

RC Ndikilo, warned Christians that they should not dare slaughter animals, but must submit under the Islamic laws of slaughtering animals. Islamic  laws demand that, an animal must face towards the Kaaba in Mecca, during slaughtering exercise, the direction  towards which all Muslims worldwide face during prayers.

Earlier, the African Inland Church Pastor, asked the RC how Islamic tenets are forced  into the Christian community, and inquired to know if the country is an Islamic state, to which the RC arrogantly replied: Dont you know!

CRISIS ON MEAT SLAUGHTERING:MUSLIMS REGISTERED HALAL BUREAU OF TANZANIA

The Supreme Council of Muslims Tanzania (BARAZA KUU), in January, 2013, has registered a mechanism which shall supervise and alert Muslims on all unlawful foods and beverages according the Islamic Sharia.

The mechanism is known as HALAL BUREAU OF TANZANIA
The mechanism shall not only deal with the lawful foods and beverages, but also shall inspect all kinds of cosmetics unlaful to the Islamic sharia.

Speaking during the seminar of introducing this mechanism to participants Muslims from  Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, Tanga, Mwanza, and Arusha regions at the Sinza-Palestina mosque in Dar es- Salaam last Sunday, Amir of the Council,Sheikh Musa Kundecha said the main objective of this body is to ensure and preserve the Islamic tenets on foods.

He further said Muslims in Tanzania are not sure if meat is prepared in pursuance with the Islamic law.

Few days ago, Pastor Mathew Kachilla of Pentecostal Assemblies of God at Buseresere, Geita,  was killed following the fracas between Christians and Muslims related to animal slaughtering exercise.
The government of Tanzania forbade Christians to slaughter animals, and force them to submit under the Islamic laws. Tanzania is a secular state constitutionally.

Christians responded in the negation.

Christians suggest that since the government has registered a Muslim body to supervise Islamic laws in foods and beverages, it is also necessary to register the same to the Christians to reduce crisis in the society.

UTAMBULISHO:

"AMERICA STAY AWAY FROM TANZANIA" SAYS PROF.HAMZA MUSTAFA NJOZI

The on-going campaign by radical Muslims to eradicate of what they call Christian System in Tanzania, seems to have deeper roots, as prominent Muslim scholars have plugged their feet in.

Prof. Hamza Mustafa Njozi, a lecturer at Morogoro Muslim University, and a member of Dar es Salaam University Muslims Trusteeship (DUMT), has portrayed this.

Prof.  Njozi, further, blames America for her intervention in the process of restoring peace. He would like the Islamic coercively campaign of imposing shariah laws in the secular state like Tanzania,  face no obstacles until the land  has been, successfully, controlled by them.

He says: "It appears that there are more than local forces at play. Available evidence seems to indicate that the Americans are also involved. Their involvement may be gathered from what preceded and what followed, the Zanzibar killings of 26-27 January."

On his opinion the 26-27 January killings and its aftermath has a direct connection with the current situation of Zanzibar, as the result of America intervention. This statement to the large extent is obvious seditious.

He further says "Christians in Tanzania do not need to be taught about Muslims. They have lived with them throughout their lives-long before even Tanganyika or Zanzibar became independent. Yet, as a result of government propaganda, a good number of the same Christians now seem to reject the image of Muslims as they appear in front of them, in favor  of the image of Muslims as painted by the government. If this could be the case even to adult Christians, what image of Muslims will the frightened, tender-aged Christians of today carry in their heads?
